Resetting Your Password in Handshake

Important: In order to reset your password for Handshake, you will need to already have access to your CIAT email address. You can find more information on that here.

Here are our Resetting Password steps for Handshake:

1. Start at this link: https://app.joinhandshake.com/login

2. You may be redirected to the CIAT page automatically. This is Pathway 1. If so, proceed from there. 

• If not, you will see an option under Student & Alumni to search for your school. This is Pathway 2. Type in "California Institute of Applied Technology" and select your school when you see it populate in the dropdown. **Note: There are some schools with similar names so make sure you select correctly.**
  
  

3. If you're following Pathway 2 from the step above, click on "Sign in with your email address" on the next page. Enter your CIAT email address. This will redirect you to the CIAT login page. Both Pathway 1 and 2 resume here.

4. Select the "Login with your Handshake credentials" option. Select Forgot Password on the following page. Then, enter your CIAT email address in the box available and then click Reset Password.

5. Check your CIAT email for the password reset email. If it doesn't come through within a few minutes, check your Spam/Junk folders for your email. You will be able to reset your password through the link in this email.

Password requirements: Must be 8 characters in length, and include a mix of at least TWO EACH of letters, numbers, and special characters.
